Thursday quick hitters

* If you have not seen the video of Glen "Big Baby" Davis crying on the Celtics bench after being chewed out by Kevin Garnett, go to youtube immediately. That dude is just weird. Asides from this incident, he is remembered for dancing like a woman with a boa around his neck at the 2006 Final 4 with LSU, and licking the golden basketball at the top of the NBA Championship trophy. Strange dude.
Bold

* If the Saints aren't careful, they may just beat the Bears to get back in the wildcard chase. On a critical 4th and inches, the Saints ran a pitch out against the Bears defence that went for a 10 yard loss!
However, Kyle Orton then threw an INT to Karl Fujita (pronounced Fa-Jeet-A...just like the way idiot frat boys like to pronounce Fajitas at Mexis), and the Saints capitalized with a touch to go up 24-21.
A classic game of two teams still in the playoff chase but with such glaring weaknesses that there is not a chance in hell either team will be in the super bowl.

* Yankees get Sabathia. I guess all that talk from C.C. about wanting to play on the west coast in the National League was just a crock of shit. Although, 7 years/160 million...I can't blame him. Plus, I think alot of the great players in Baseball want to challenge themselves to see if they can make it in New York. Some fail, some succeed, but being at the top of your game and playing in NYC, especially for the Yanks, elevates you to God like status. Which is something these egomaniac assholes like. Maybe even more than the $$$$$.

* Getting back to the Kyle Orton Int, Chris Collinsworth is an exceptional colour commentator. Not only is he knowledgable, he's not afriad to call a spade a spade.
Regarding Orton's interception, Collinsworth said that's the difference between a QB like Orton and a QB like Drew Brees. When Orton cannot find his primary receiver, and has to start looking at the second option, he gets confused and throws interceptions. Whereas a QB like Brees has no problem going through all of his options and making the right pass.
There's 2 things happening with that comment;
1) He's educating fans like me as to what truly separates a qb of Orton's ability and Brees' ability.
2) He's calling Orton a mediocre QB. He's not afraid that Orton is going to watch the game on tape and get offended. Orton is an average QB, and Collinsworth tells you that he is. Alot of other commentators would go on and on about Orton's savvy and leadership skills. Collinsworth tells it the way it is.

Collinsworth also called out Saints Wide Receiver Devery Henderson for being afraid to run slant routes, which often end up with a hard hit from a linebacker or safety. Love it!

* Bears win 27-24. The Saints are done. Bears put pressure on Minnesota for the NFC North. The NFL has to change the overtime format at some point. When a team can win a coin toss, get a 40 yard pass interference call, and kick a field goal to win a hard fought game....there has to be a better way.

* I can't wait for Steelers/Ravens on Sunday. I doubt it will be pretty, but it will be 2 tough teams going at it. Lots of hard hits, but no fights, can you imagine such a thing all you hockey fans.
